- Clamchop 3y agoThe majority of flavors, fragrances, medications, and synthesized organic chemicals of all purposes use petroleum as a precursor at some stage of their manufacture. It's a very cheap source of hydrocarbons and doesn't at all mean there is petroleum in the product.
