iOS apps, and by extension, app updates are encrypted with a per-account key. No idea why it would be done for system updates though. iOS system update .ipsw’s certainly aren’t.
- saagarjha 3y agoApps are encrypted as a DRM scheme. iOS updates aren’t encrypted but are authorized based on your hardware ID.
