  They tend to justify it, both themselves and to the world, by claiming the product is here lift people in the global south out of poverty and bring them into the modern world. That's textbook white saviorism. That's how they handwave away the fact that their actual goal is exploiting lax regulation, ineffective law enforcement, and financial hardship to scoop up biometric data for cheap.
