Tmux is great for monitoring remote systems. I simply have htop along with some other monitoring tools in a window, and other windows to run commands on my remotes. Combined with autossh, it means I can just be always-connected to my remote devices. Tmux keeps the sessions open on each machine, and autossh reconnects to them from my device when the network is back within reach. That way I just have one tab per remote.
