These people keep surprising me! Give women freedom of choice - not being married away at 16 at their parents' decision and having a control over their fertility - invariably means dieoff. Women never wanted to have more than one child! And that's not enough. There is no way in the world to fix this, and the genie is out of the bottle. It is politically impossible even in the worst dictatorships to reverse this even if the need is so dire. Spain is not unique - the entire world is facing this abyss sooner or later and "later" doesn't even mean all that much later. Any effective solution to the problem means an unbelievably heavy-handed crushing of even the most basic human rights as we see them now. Won't happen.
