Gameboy Leach
- _def 3y agoThese look like fun experiments. I also like the term used here, "prepared Gameboy". The actual sound reminds me a bit of shitwave: https://blog.gg8.se/wordpress/2009/03/23/shitwave-a-prng-based-drone-generator-for-gameboy/ https://blog.gg8.se/wordpress/2009/03/23/shitwave-a-prng-bas...

- robin_reala 3y agoThe “prepared Gameboy” follows in a long history of ”prepared” instruments, for example prepared pianos: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prepared_piano https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prepared_piano
- alias_neo 3y agoLove some of the sounds coming out of this; would be great to get a circuit diagram to get a better idea of how this is hooked up. Is every output of the decade counter being used or just a single output making it a frequency divider (and other questions)? If I understand correctly, the Gameboy is running a sequencer, presumably outputting to the speaker, so how is that hooked into the leached information from the various parts of the Gameboy?
- geon 3y agoI don't think the software running matters much. It just makes noise.
