NASA Head Concerned That China Will Steal Lunar Resources
- mydriasis 3y ago> "And it is true that we better watch out that they don’t get to a place on the Moon under the guise of scientific research." This... is a really weird take. The whole thing is weird. "Steal"?? The resources on the moon? As though they belong to anyone? Why do we suddenly care _right now_? That combined with the bizarre chest-puffing tone I'm getting from the article... what a weird thing to read.
- ompogUe 3y agoAgreed. Very weird. "Stealing?" Also, reminds me of the many sci-fi tales of the lunatic residents of "New China" or "New America" separating from the colonizing countries after the "Moon City Tea Party" and such.
- shrimp_emoji 3y agoFighting China on the Moon, just like in Fallout! https://fallout.fandom.com/wiki/Sea_of_Tranquility https://fallout.fandom.com/wiki/Sea_of_Tranquility
- simonblack 3y agoFearmongering to squeeze out more funding for NASA. NASA's problem is the the US doesn't have the spare readies that it had back in 1969.
