I don't understand why she would be like this. Why would anyone hold back the production process for a material that could change humanity forever?

- ssabev 3y agoLots of bizarre pro-Soviet behaviour from her as well which feels somehow connected
- refulgentis 3y agoShe's _literally_ Russian, not ironically. So not so bizarre.
- ssabev 3y agoWell, she said, she's ethnically Ukrainian. It was great times for us during the USSR so not that's why I was finding it a bit odd.
- maipen 3y agoWhy? Simple, there's lots of mentally ill people on this planet. Anime profile pictures are usualy a redflag. These kind of people should only be ignored since they never want to cooperate.
- ShamelessC 3y agoThat sort of comment is completely unnecessary and ignorant on so many levels. Do better.

- mschuster91 3y ago> Anime profile pictures are usualy a redflag. These kind of people should only be ignored since they never want to cooperate. A lot of them are simply trans and tired of dealing with constant harassment campaigns directed towards their gender identity. Of course they're wary about cooperations with people they don't intimately trust.
- willis936 3y agoThere would have to be a lot of cognitive dissonance to be illegally trans yet self identity as "ethnically soviet" on a social media bio.
- aoeusnth1 3y agoIt takes a lot of cognitive dissonance to be pro USSR in the first place, so a little more shouldn't hurt.
- zarzavat 3y agoUSSR means something different to Russians than it does to Americans. To Americans it was the Enemy. To Russians it was the last time that Russia was truly important on the world stage and had some degree of prosperity.
- xvector 3y agojust some good ole nostalgia for stalin's purges!
- lost_tourist 3y agoI think it's kind of like the 1950's for white supremacists.
- golergka 3y agoTo Russians that had at least a couple of brain cells it was also the enemy.

- protastus 3y agoHer methods were improvised and lacking, by her own admission. There are several world class labs working on this today. There's basically zero chance a junior researcher doing amateur chemistry in the kitchen is going to outperform the best groups in the world at figuring out how to synthesize this thing with decent yield, and then characterizing it.
