I truly do not understand why it is good policy to allow rich foreign investors to buy up all these houses and drive the prices up in the US when there's a serious housing and affordability crisis. Perhaps someone could enlighten me?

It's weird that no one makes the same statement with respect to stocks. What's the difference?

    If he really cared about that, he won't harass listed companies the way he does, making stock market investing in China little but irresponsible gambling as whole business is at the mercy of whims of the Party and Xi himself. That's why people invest in real estate so massively in China: Party left them with little else to invest in!
