But maybe I have a bad girlfriend too.
- anbende 3y agoJust curious, where do you see an AI therapist? Is there a site or service that you like?
- behnamoh 3y agoProbably something you can create for yourself using some basic prompt engineering on GPT-4 or even 3.5. BUT... Do I want to share sensitive info with an API? No. Llama 2 might be a better option but it's way more expensive to self-host a 70B L2.
- creata 3y ago> Llama 2 might be a better option but it's way more expensive to self-host a 70B L2. It's free if you're okay with getting one character per second (and possibly melting your laptop).
- Multicomp 3y agoi've been playing with gpt4all for localhost running chatbots, its amazing at how capable it is at such an early state. local LLMs 2 (to say nothing of say 5+) years from now will be much more refined, its early generative AI days. This will all be quite interesting.
- dcow 3y agoYou can run 13B locally and it will do just fine.

- ShamelessC 3y agoYou have a bad therapist.
- pixl97 3y agoAnd what if most available therapists are bad therapists?
- ShamelessC 3y agoThat’s not true.
- thumbuddy 3y agoAre you by chance also nonhuman? Because current "AI" has not basis for the context that is the human experience, nor emotions...
- IshKebab 3y agoWhat? AI training material contains hundreds of gigabytes of text about the human experience and emotions.
- thumbuddy 3y agoOkay let's pretend chat bots have human level intelligence. Has there ever been a topic you read a lot about and went to go do something with it only to realize you had no idea what to do when something went wrong? I sure have. Reading something is not the same thing as doing it. Doing something is not the same thing as understanding it. Understanding something is at best a model for the essence of something. Hegel has a great book on this. Recommended reading...
- zone411 3y ago1 in 4 Americans said they'd prefer to talking to an AI chatbot over a human therapist. https://www.tebra.com/blog/research-perceptions-of-ai-in-healthcare/ https://www.tebra.com/blog/research-perceptions-of-ai-in-hea...
- flycaliguy 3y agoMaybe you can convince a therapist to use the AI with you and fill some gaps? I wouldn’t be surprised if this type of hybrid approach would be useful in some situations.
