- dutchCourage 3y agoThis resonates with me more and more as I age. I like seeing items that have been worn out over time. It's a testament of their sturdiness, their story. A shot in the dark, but a few years back I saw a Twitter thread of someone who wanted to make a photo book about this concept. With photos of, for example, a lock with scratches from people missing the key hole. Does that ring a bell to anyone? Has the book ever been made?
- acadapter 3y agoThis exists in some parts of European culture, but it's not named with anything as generic as this. One example is the "antiquing" of newly produced violins.
- pvaldes 3y agothe excuse of the lazy maker
- keiferski 3y agoExcuse the self-promotion, but I recently spent quite a bit of time researching the concept of wabi-sabi and wrote a post about it. It can be a notoriously vague concept, but it does have fairly specific roots. https://onthearts.com/p/what-does-wabi-sabi-really-mean https://onthearts.com/p/what-does-wabi-sabi-really-mean
