Never thought I'd see the day Kirsten Gillibrand and Josh Hawley would co-author a bill
- harry8 3y agoThis kind of thing, outsiders from both sides of government joining to try to get something done is the only way you will ever get any reform. Also why the insiders from both sides will be so scathing about outsiders on the other side and claim they are literally $evil_person_from_history
- munchler 3y agoI'm scathing about Josh Hawley because he encouraged a coup against the US government, not because he's some sort of "outsider".
- harry8 3y agoI'm sure you believe that. I dislike him and I don't. Go figure.
- j33zusjuice 3y agoHawley’s on the same level as Greene. They’re insane, incredibly stupid, or incredibly bad.
- engineer_22 3y agoJosh Hawley has a JD from Yale - this isn't proof that he's smart or sane, but an indication that Yale thinks so. Maybe he is incredibly bad, there might be some data points for that. Interesting, as JH would probably not agree with most of the personal politics of Yale's campus community, but the Law School may have a different culture. I don't know.
- DontchaKnowit 3y agoimo, even more egregious than this is Josh Hawley's incessant needling, pestering, leading, talking over, and ultimately ignoring every single person he has ever questioned as part of a congressional hearing. He asks people leading questions, then when they start to give a legit answer he just talks over them in an attempt to make them look like they couldn't answer the question. Conservatives eat that dumb shit up. drives me insane.
- harry8 3y agoYeah it's terrible isn't it? Don't fall for the base accusation that it's "them from that side that do it." Did you see Matt Taibbi testifying. Plaskett & Wasserman Schultz showing us what they are? The point is this is the kind of BS (and you're 100% right, it is awful) that you have to put in the "less important" basket if you want to get anything reformed ever.
- DontchaKnowit 3y agoYeah im a conservative, but the republicans have got some special variety of stupid in congress. Liberals too but its a different variety.
- harry8 3y agoLook how easily this was derailed from a wildly popular reform bill that you probably want to people hating on Hawley. You do have to admire Pelosi, she and the hundreds like her in power really do have us and get our support despite what we /know/ they are very deftly. How is Feinstein doing nowadays?
- engineer_22 3y agoCommon thread: they're both up for re-election in 2024
