Interesting US States obesity data, ranked red vs blue states
- willmiller_ 3y agoInteresting article on obesity compared state wise. MSNBC(https://www.msnbc.com/opinion/msnbc-opinion/pandemic-fitness-trends-have-gone-extreme-literally-n1292463 https://www.msnbc.com/opinion/msnbc-opinion/pandemic-fitness...) last week had published that right wing is obsessed with fitness. Apparently most obese states are red states!
- api 3y agoMaybe that’s why they are obsessed with fitness?
- willmiller_ 3y agoLol, could be.

- proto-n 3y agoTo be pedantic, this data doesn't say anything about the far right. For that, you would need to cite data about the far right itself (instead of red vs blue states), or lacking that try to argue correlations between far right presence in red majority in states affecting averages to whatever degree or something, though thats a quite weak argument imo. (This is not a statement about whether far right is obsessed with fitness, I'm just saying that the data cited does not directly say anything about the question.)

- JackSlateur 3y agoTLDR: depending on states, 25 to 40% of the US population is obese.
- Zambyte 3y agoIt would be interesting to compare this to the average voter age per state as well. The I suspect correlation between weight and voting tendency might be bridged by age.
