This story is flagged for no apparent reason. I'm used to be able to vouch, but don't have the option in this case. What's up with that?

- the_only_law 3y ago> I'm used to be able to vouch, but don't have the option in this case. What's up with that? Huh weird, I’m pretty sure I can still vouch comments. Maybe there are different levels of vouching or the threshold differs for [flagged] vs [dead]. I feel like I vouched for a [dead] post recently.
- dang 3y agoUsers flagged it. We can only guess why users flag things, and in this case I don't have much of a guess. (Of many flags, only one came from a YC founder, so it wasn't that.) I've turned off the flags now, in keeping with the rule that we moderate HN less when YC or YC startups are part of a story: https://hn.algolia.com/?dateRange=all&page=0&prefix=false&query=by%3Adang%20moderate%20%22less%2C%20not%20more%22&sort=byDate&type=comment https://hn.algolia.com/?dateRange=all&page=0&prefix=false&qu.... p.s. Vouching only works when a story is [dead]
- josephcsible 3y ago> p.s. Vouching only works when a story is [dead] Why is this? Why can we only fix wrongful flags ourselves when they totally kill a post, rather than when they only bury it?
- slater 3y agoI'm guessing cos we'd then end up with warring vouching/dead flags on posts.
