I still don't get what alternative everyone is going to. There isn't one. At least not similar or consensus. Weird to burn bridges without a plan.

- criddell 3y agoI pretty much stopped going to Reddit and it never really occurred to me that I would look for an alternative. I’ve reduced the amount of social media in my life (and I do count HN as social media) and I think I’m better off.
- silverbax88 3y agoLemmy's user base doubled since Monday and heading towards 200,000 plus right now. I definitely think there's a migration, even if it isn't all of Reddit.
- e12e 3y agoI don't think there is a single platform for all subset of reddit users - but for the more social sqwok might be of interest: https://sqwok.im/ https://sqwok.im/
- mrtranscendence 3y agoI guess I'll try Lemmy again, but I'm not hopeful. When I used it last week any sub-community I was interested in either didn't exist or was completely dead.
- appletrotter 3y agoBetter off without.
- Havoc 3y ago>Weird to burn bridges without a plan. It's just casual entertainment, not life/career. That said you are right on the alternatives being in short supply. Which is a problem in itself and another reason to bail.
