Recently, I've started using phpbb (with a docker-compose setup from Bitnami) for keeping personal notes. I find that it works better than pretty much everything I've used before. I like that when I reply to a thread to add an update, that post raises to the top, so it's harder to lose items.
- tommica 3y agoWhat an interesting idea - my goto has been personal wikis, but personal discussion board seems like a great choice!
- photoGrant 3y agoThis is borderline genius! Thank you! Stolen, doing!
- laerios 3y agoThis is exactly my use-case for a fossil repo with the built-in forum, with the default provided sorting. Fleeting notes get migrated as needed to Wiki pages (capability for which is also built-in). Demonstration of default settings: https://fossil-scm.org/forum/forum https://fossil-scm.org/forum/forum ("most recent threads" is equivalent to "most recently updated thread") Docs: https://fossil-scm.org/home/doc/trunk/www/forum.wiki https://fossil-scm.org/home/doc/trunk/www/forum.wiki
