Interesting theological question:
AFAIK the “Holy spirit” is something like the tentacle of the Cristian hive mind that reaches into each believer.
A gathering of believers is therefore representing a part of divinity itself.
Can a “sentinent” machine be part of that?
- salad-tycoon 3y agoChristianity has a lot of factions so I can’t presume to speak for all of them but I have studied many of them. You are right that a core tenant is “where one or more is gathered in my name, I am” so a congregation would have the presence of the Holy Spirit but as far as I know, no sect believes it is a hive mind presence of other believers but rather a separate person of the triune godhead (Father,Son,Holy Spirit). The finer points of the spirit coming and going and where he proceeds from have started actual and ongoing wars. AI church is about as dystopian and yet farcical as you can get. Like writing a love letter with AI.
