It was odd during 'Nam that at 18, you could own a bar, work in a bar and even get your ass shot off in the jungle but you could not drink it in. Now, I guess, they're going to say you can own it at 18 but work it in at 16? Still can't drink until 21. At least there's no draft...
- Aeolun 3y agoDrinking is much better at 16 too… hangovers are just not a thing.
- cafard 3y agoActually, the drinking age varied by state: in New York you could drink at 18, in Colorado you could drink 3.2 beer. The Reagan Administration pushed to make the drinking age a uniform 21, with the notion that this would produce as a great a reduction in traffic fatalities as the airbags it did not wish to mandate.
