developer rates are dropping fast across the globe as more people come online and compete at low rates, especially when applying for fully remote roles. people based in high cost of living countries can't compete with developing markets where CoL is 10x lower
- urbandw311er 3y agoHmm, the situation is far more nuanced than you suggest. There are also downsides of outsourcing labour to developing markets, such as language barriers, time zones, cultural differences and more. I personally know several CTOs who have reverted to in-house teams after realising that the actual costs extend beyond just salaries.
