I think this will allow for some of the most confusing possible domain names.
IT person: What’s the address?
Customer: It’s www.http.web.
IT person: That can’t be right, please check again.
Customer: No, really…

- Ekaros 3y agoI remember to being slightly confused when there used to be www.fi as a webportal. Like all sites were www.something.fi so how was this thing... But that could be fun one. You could have www.www.www or http.www.www possibilities are endlessly confusing.

We need .http and .https too! com.google.www.http Reminds me of the old days, > The name "Slashdot" came from a somewhat "obnoxious parody of a URL" – when Malda registered the domain, he desired to make a name that was "silly and unpronounceable" – try pronouncing out, 'h-t-t-p-colon-slash-slash-slashdot-dot-org'".
- tpmx 3y agoAn early web-centric company I worked for attempted to register www.se in like '94 or '95. (Un)fortunately the one guy who manually processed all domain name applications for .se via email back then (ber@sunet.se; he passed away in 2005) found it "inappropriate" with no further explanation.
