Ukrainian farmer comes up with novel way to demine his fields
- h2odragon 3y agoHow sophisticated / sensitive are the mines? How big a firecracker would it take to set them off? Seed some numerous, small explosive package like that over the whole field, perhaps formulated to fertilize with its nitrogen residues as it plows and de-mines.
- nradov 3y agoSensitivity varies. Antipersonnel mines are highly sensitive, antitank mines less so. The military uses rocket-propelled explosive line charges to de-mine fields but those are way more powerful than firecrackers.
