Right to repair is getting silly. Do you have the right to repair a CPU? The manufacturing on the flex connectors inside most iPhones today are incredibly delicate!
- sofixa 3y ago> because they're trying to stick it to Apple Apple need sticking to. Their monopolistic (yes, they don't have a monopoly, only a near one) practices are abhorrent on many levels and seeing that they're incapable of regulating themselves, they need a slap down. They are getting more and more egregious for even very basic stuff - do you know that you can't even upgrade the few remaining non-glued parts on Mac Studios and Minis like SSDs? That replacing stuff like the screen of the iPhone doesn't work without them blessing it? Outside of the meticulous efforts put into making even the opening of Apple hardware harder than it needs to be. And Apple need even sticking to if they use ex-execs of theirs in blatant conflict of interest to sabotage laws that impact Apple.

- solarkraft 3y ago> The manufacturing on the flex connectors inside most iPhones today are incredibly delicate! ... so?
- DoctorOW 3y ago> Do you have the right to repair a CPU? Of course I do. I'll probably fuck it up, but I still have the right to try. Good idea for all != Right for all
