Where were you 25 years ago?
- aembleton 3y agoIn high school, using Netscape.
- krger 3y agoThen perhaps you understand the irony of Microsoft adopting—in the Windows kernel—a technology created by, of all organizations, Mozilla.
- nazgulsenpai 3y agoMicrosoft is also a member of the Linux Foundation and has their own kernel. As someone who grew up in the 90s, it was quite a surreal thing to live to see.
- e12e 3y agoI still have trouble believing there's a build of SQL Server for Linux (also available as a Docker image).
- signal11 3y agoFor me the “wtf” thing is that you can get a newer bash with Windows than macOS. Also since Dec 2022, you can run GUI apps on WSL, so you can install Firefox, VS Code etc on Linux and have them show up on the Start Menu. I can’t say why exactly but that was... weird.
