- AndrewKemendo 4y agoThen perhaps you're being paid too much compared to the other people in society
- drstewart 4y agoEuropeans will do anything to justify their abysmal salaries, won't they? >Current: Labor activism. lmao
- nonethewiser 4y agoOr maybe 30k for a new grad software engineer in London is a joke. What is your salary? Salary transparency empowers us all.
- AndrewKemendo 4y agoI have no salary currently
- notTooFarGone 4y agoyeah that happened. You can get pretty much 55-60k on average.
- nonethewiser 4y agoHappens all the time. 35k avg according to Glassdoor. But furthermore, even if it were 55-60k, that’s about half of what you could expect in the US. https://www.glassdoor.com/Salaries/london-entry-level-software-engineer-salary-SRCH_IL.0,6_IM1035_KO7,36.htm https://www.glassdoor.com/Salaries/london-entry-level-softwa...
- TheFragenTaken 4y agoUS software dev salaries are, way higher than European, even when subtracting "mandatory" payments usually paid through taxes in Europe, like child care, healthcare, pensions, maternity leave, housing costs (which to a degree is depressed due to property taxes).
- knallfrosch 4y agoYou won't be able to afford a dog walker and three F150 pickups, but you won't need to.
- TheRealPomax 4y agoIf you only look at salary, rather than "what you get to keep" based on total expenses, in turn based on factors like cost of living, cost of transport, cost of insurance, etc. etc., I have questions about your ability to budget. They money you get to keep, and what that buys you, is what matters, not the amount you start off with.
