Do you really want to live in a country where the government is not willing to tell you whether you are breaking the law?
- duxup 4y agoI don’t think congressional testimony is quite that.
- mikeryan 4y agoThat’s literally one of the main jobs of lawyers because there’s a shit ton of law that’s not clearly defined and based on obscure precedents or never been tried in a court. Heck half of the court system from Appellate to the Supreme court is to figure out what is and isn’t legal. Most government agencies won’t tell you if something is legal or illegal because they don’t know unless there clear case law on the subject, in which case your attorney should know, and they’d spend all day guessing. If Coinbase wants clarity then take it to court and run it up the flagpole.
