It seems india is also now improving economically.
So If I was betting man, I would be going long on india right now.
Not only do they've excellent educational institutions i.e IIT that have produced many tech CEO's.
And given, h1b backlog - many indians will likely opt to now stay in india and produce homegrown companies such as the chinese have done. Hence reversing Brain drain. They've the population numbers to support such.
What's left to ponder is whether they will solidify their other institutions to allow the right growth trajectory.
- seanmcdirmid 4y agoIndia is politically unstable and has huge inequality problems. Having lived in China but only visited India, I think India has a long way to go before it hits something similar to a Chinese accelerating economy.
- questime 4y agoStarting a company in India is hellish - what the h1b backlog really does is push migration to UK, Australia, UAE, Canada etc. Emigration from India is just going to go up over time - higher education in India in aggregate is awful too (IITs represent <0.01% of students), demand for studying abroad is exploding. https://monitor.icef.com/2022/08/forecast-projects-1-8-million-indian-students-abroad-by-2024/ https://monitor.icef.com/2022/08/forecast-projects-1-8-milli...
