Apple Releases New Firmware for AirPods, AirPods Max and AirPods Pro
- dvno42 4y agoA a change log would be nice. After the anecdotes about a reduction of ANC capabilities due to a patent troll, I'm nervous as hell to plug my headphones into my laptop.
- DANmode 4y agoAre we 100% certain it was due to a patent troll, not quietly fixing a feature that could do damage to the ear?
- heyoni 4y agoYou mean like the Amber alert?
- tornadron 4y agoAgreed, my beats solo pros always worked fine, until the final firmware update which was conveniently right before they were no longer supported. Upgrade with caution. https://www.reddit.com/r/beatsbydre/comments/vqw0k5/solo_pro_latest_firmware_update/ https://www.reddit.com/r/beatsbydre/comments/vqw0k5/solo_pro...
- brokenmachine 4y agoYet another unrevokable firmware update for an expensive device with a change log of "trust me bro". Why is this activity legal?
- pg938hkd 4y agoYeah never patch unless it’s broken
- bzzzt 4y agoYou don't get to choose, pairing the things with an iOS or mac device automatically updates it. Anyway, my old Airpods 2 set was already updated and is still working so maybe not that big a deal...
- NoPicklez 4y agoWell if they release an update that improves the quality of something, that would be a reason to patch.
- urbandw311er 4y ago> Update: Apple has temporarily pulled the AirPods firmware update. It should be back in the next few days.
