Yes he does
- cpursley 4y agoHe absolutely deserves it. And hopefully paid well.
- hammock 4y agoWhat do you believe is a fair salary for him?
- twelve40 4y agojeez who cares? would you like to go after that job or just asking for a friend?
- callalex 4y agoI think it’s a perfect question in the spirit of Hacker News. Edit to add: it’s also a perfect demonstration of the limits of a forum moderated by someone beholden to venture capitalists ;)
- twelve40 4y agoI think this question was nosy and rude. It's perfectly fine to discuss anonymized salaries, or aggregate salaries stats, or volunteer your own (after all, where else can we discuss that?), but why would you want to pry into a specific person's life, especially since he's basically doing public service for all of us here?
- Dylan16807 4y agoA question like that about fair salary is about the job, not the person.
- Brian_K_White 4y agoThe job is singular and not anonymous, general, or abstract. The question was about the person.
- joshmanders 4y agoAs someone who runs a community not nearly as large as HN, not enough.
- liotier 4y agoDamn right. I used to moderate a medium-sized subreddit... Readers don't imagine the amount of shit mods must shovel out the way to keep the place sane - and even that feels like recreation compared to dealing with abusive users. To the mod' who is going to have this message in his suspicious pile because of a four letters word I put in there on purpose: thank you !
- dang 4y agoThank you (both)!
- joshmanders 4y agoThe real thanks goes to you.
