I can see an eventual battle between teachers unions and Ai usage in classrooms, with pressure to limit or ban them. How effective can an individually tailored GPT6 service be at teaching kids? What happens when the image/video models advance and these models can not only teach through text but also through image examples/video examples?
I was never a great in-person learner so to me it would have been a God send. What percentage of kids are like me in which society could save untold amounts per child WITH better outcomes.
- dangwhy 4y agokhan academy seems to doing this.

I think the challenge is the other way. Going to be really hard to grade homework if you can get a good answer from an LLM for any question you ask it.

There will absolutely be a market for educational software based on LLMs. Neal Stephenson's novel The Diamond Age had a system like that as a plot element and the basic concept seems sound. I'm sure there are already stealth mode startups building this. But automation isn't a magic solution to improving educational achievement or reducing costs. We haven't figured out how to automate the human touch that allows good teachers to engage students who might have learning disabilities, or are just lower on the general intelligence scale, or lack self discipline, or are distracted by bad home environments. Obviously human teachers aren't perfect at dealing with troubled students but most of them at least try and can engage specialized resources to get more help. Will a chatbot recognize that a student is being abused at home and call CPS?
