It looks like there is actually a market segment for «luxury» software. I wouldn't buy it either, but I'm not sure I've any strong opinions about it. If it puts food on the table of someone that might be not writing bleeding edge algorithmic software, but take cares of reliability, system integration, UI designs and UX patterns of a scoped problem to solve, I'll have hard time to be against it.
