React has been out for a decade. Why can’t your system could stay on this version forever?

  I won't immediately update, since future feature development will take priority, but eventually I will want to update since the current industrial risk is that surrounding dependencies may have bugs that are a risk to customers. It's a low likelihood, but I'd rather stay up to date when I can.
