Surely they'd receive enough metrics from the folks opting in to the beta/pre releases. Why not tie telemetry to that? Or at least explain why that was thought

Surely they'd receive enough metrics from the folks opting in to the beta/pre releases. Why not tie telemetry to that? Or at least explain why that was thought about and dismissed. It's an obvious fair solution to me as a customer that's feeling a bit shafted into this.
- bwoodruff 4y agoGreat question! Limiting telemetry to those who opt into beta/pre-releases limits our data to those already most likely to write in with feedback. With this initiative we’re hoping to learn more from other audiences — particularly those not inclined toward beta software. - Ben, 1Password
