- jryle70 4y agoI know bashing Musk is all in vogue and a pastime here on HN, but at least check the facts. Pixar was spun off from Lucasfilm in 1986 when it had been in existence for several years, with many employees. It was an established company changing the ownership. Musk joined Tesla only a few months after it was founded, before it sold any car. Claiming the founder title when it barely existed is certainly not outrageous.

- enumjorge 4y agoAccording to Wikipedia Tesla was incorporated in 2003. A few months later Musk invested a large sum in the company but didn’t join the company until a year after the company was founded and started as CTO. Saying he joined a few months after the company was founded feels like a stretch.
