- nradov 4y agoThe article seems to be framed from the mistaken notion that Twitter has a responsibility to somehow protect all users from seeing anything offensive. The reality is that Twitter has to eventually turn a profit if it's going to survive and the vast majority of employees who were "decimated" weren't doing anything of commercial value. If some users are experiencing illegal harassment then they should report that to law enforcement.
- giraffe_lady 4y agoNo you've shifted the framing to "protect all users from seeing anything offensive" to trivialize it, but the concerns in the article include targeted harassment campaigns and CSE. Which they definitely have responsibility to prevent.
- nradov 4y agoThe subjects of this article didn't provide any real evidence or data to justify their concerns. Where is the proof that such problems are getting worse, or that the terminated employees were even doing anything effective? It mostly sounded like whining by a bunch of lazy people who used to get paid huge salaries to sit around doing not much of anything. Illegal harassment and CSE are criminal matters. Any victims or witnesses should report that to law enforcement.

- jrootabega 4y agoIs it weird that there is a picture of the author looking somewhat sad in the middle of the article?

- ehvatum 4y agoTwitter insiders: it was absolutely normal and correct and ideal for Iran, the Taliban and President Maduro to post to twitter regularly, while we banned the sitting US President. Anything else would be trolling.
