During the 2020 election cycle, the obvious inevitability of massive AI-driven unemployment was being presented as a reason that everyone with a brain had to support UBI.

  His argument presupposes further AI progress, the opposite of blocking it.

  As I recall, the only candidate making that argument was Andrew Yang. No one took him seriously and he dropped out early in the primaries.
