There Are Only Two Ways to Bring Peace to Ukraine
- anovikov 4y agoBut, it's important to not overdo. If Russians realise they have no chance of winning, they can give up and leave, and it's not the optimal outcome. They have to first, be thoroughly drained of resources so they can't invade anyone else. Do we want Putin to repeat the same thing say with Kazakhstan? It will be a lot harder to help Kazakhstan than Ukraine. Also, i would argue that a thoroughly drained Russia that lost faith in it's military, will give Belarus a chance to set itself free.
- pestatije 4y agoI think this is actually what's happening...it's not the west's best interest to end the war. As long as there are people willing to kill as many Russians as possible, why stop them? Russia will end up with only its nuclear deterrent and nothing else. A kind of big N Korea, threatening, but only on paper.
- BerislavLopac 4y ago> If Russians realise they have no chance of winning, they can give up and leave Yes, this would probably be a rational thing to do. Which means that it's very likely something they would never do.
- pelasaco 4y ago> Should such an offensive succeed in breaking the land bridge between Russia and Crimea, and possibly even liberating Crimea and large parts of the Donbas region.. I support Ukraine, and I despise Putin and his War. The only thing that I want to point out, based on my experience (between 2015 - 2020, I was quite often in Crimea), is that actually the majority of people living in the Crimea, don't want to be liberated. They were/are happier as part of Russia, than Ukraine. The improvement in the infrastructure there (health, transports, etc) was massive. My impression was and still is because I still have contact with people living there, that they support Ukraine in this War, but they would prefer to stay as Russia.
