I recently got invited to the wedding of a friend I hadn't heard from in years. We all have these friend-seeds, people whose name we know but whose bio is somewhat unknown, apart from whatever gave you their name. People who've been in the same boat as you at some stage in your life, but you didn't find the time to talk for whatever reason. Like plant seeds, they can last for years and still be viable.
