U.S. Govt Blacklists Chinese Tech Firms Loongson and Inspur
- senttoschool 4y agoAt this point, the US is simply blacklisting successful Chinese companies. They don't need any evidence of wrong doing. They can easily accuse anyone, including Tencent, Baidu, Alibaba of any connection with the Chinese military and that's it. There is no court. I guess the US won't sanction famous ones like Tencent or Alibaba because they don't want a huge PR out of it. My question is, should China start to sanction US companies? IE. Should China sanction HP for providing computers to the US military by refusing to produce or supply anything to HP?

China's not in any position to play that game lest they're happy to blow up the economy in the process. They're even more vulnerable given how attractive Vietnam and India are now for manufacturing.
