Having something for free is not viable in long term, work and efforts must be paid. Seeing projects without funding is not a good sign from my POV, doesn't let product owners and project managers to have strong base and planning.
- NayamAmarshe 4y ago> Having something for free is not viable in long term They've been saying this for the last 30 years, FOSS still isn't slowing down. Like I said, whether you like it or not, FOSS is coming for their pockets. No amount of candy crush in the start menu can save them.
- self_awareness 4y agoThis thread reminds me the threads from 2010s :) I'm pretty happy where Linux desktop is right now. It's popular enough so that big software advertises "Windows, macOS and Linux" support, but not big enough to get the "I've unplugged my mouse and now it doesn't work, how can I fix it" posts in the Internet.

- CoolCold 4y agoYou probably messing FOSS with something not requiring people to be paid. If I take say RHEL or Ubuntu Pro it still FOSS but it's paid. Not sure where you are getting this fan boy style impressions on I'm against FOSS from.
