Ask HN: Simple Recipe Search Site?
I remember a while ago a dead-simple recipe search site got posted here, and I’ve lost/forgotten the URL.
I remember it was pasted here on HN because it was some sort of proof-of-concept for a company that provided businesses with quick search software (I want to say it was maybe an example of an Elasticsearch implementation or something like that?)
I remember that it was a mostly blank page with a search box and the results only included the recipes without any of the blog cruft that usually goes along with this stuff.

- braingenious 4y agoThat’s not what I was thinking about but this might be… even better than what I wanted. Thanks!
- slater 4y agothere's a bunch of others if you just search for "recipes" down below vvv
- braingenious 4y agoAh, I must have somehow just missed the Typesense link when I was looking for it! This is the one I was thinking about: https://recipe-search.typesense.org/ https://recipe-search.typesense.org/
- victorbjorklund 4y agoWas it https://recipe-search.typesense.org https://recipe-search.typesense.org ?
- achempion 4y agoI've noticed that GPT works quite good for recipes, try prompt like "Recipe for ..." should give you ingredients and instructions in a simple form. You can then ask it to prepare a shopping list based on recipe. Need to check with a human for legibility though if you're not experienced with cooking.
- Lokalpod 4y agoHi. I made Mehungry app yesterday and shared on Show HN. Try playing around on it and let me know. Sorry in advance if it’s a bit slow! It’s really simple but I hope you can enjoy it. https://mehungry.app https://mehungry.app It uses gpt-3. Thx!

- Lokalpod 4y agoHey, unfortunately it takes a while to get a response from the Open AI api. Sorry about that, please give it some time or try again :') I just tried it out and it worked for me. Usually it takes 25-30 seconds. Thanks!
