I am guessing it wouldn’t be hard for an AI voice generator to impersonate the actor’s voices given the possible sample data available. I’m sure it’s not long before we have completely new AI generated deep faked episodes of beloved TV shows.
- jaytagdamian 4y agoI'm surprised it isn't using something like https://fakeyou.com/ https://fakeyou.com/ already.
- echelon 4y agoThanks for the shout out! I'm the founder of FakeYou, and there's a reason we've been hiring game engineers and 3D artists for the last year. We've got a really cool product coming soon. :)
- chii 4y agofaking a real voice could be construed as fraud unless they have prior permission from the actor. Their likeness cannot just be copied and used. At the very least, trademark infringement?
- cpeterso 4y agoSomething like Podcast.ai that generates fake interviews between celebrities. There is plenty of Seinfeld audio to train a voice generator. https://podcast.ai/about https://podcast.ai/about
- rjh29 4y agoThey're not even using the real names of the characters, so maybe there's some legal issues.
- notpushkin 4y agoI think they're thinking there might be legal issues, so they alter it just in case. That's what I would do, too.
