  I cant imagine he would choose that, unless due to legal reasons. Or, unlikely, a bug.

    Maybe it will be like Substack where people pay to see your Tweets. I'd image Elon still has some fanbois who would pay to squee over the Twitter Files but maybe not enough to make the next payment that's coming due.

Basically what we're watching is Elon slow-running his education about Twitter infra publicly, while re-learning known obvious lessons (privacy in social media is NP-hard). And he's doing it in prod with one of if not the most popular account on Twitter. That's so far beyond dumb it's amazing.
