- tjpnz 4y agoI assume you mean God of War and not Gears of War because you can only play the latter on Xbox and PC.
- bastardoperator 4y agoYup, God of War, or Son of Dad depending on which version you're playing.
- jasonlotito 4y agoNot to suggest that I enjoy this from either party, I but I remember when XBox was the one not wanting to work with Sony to make things cross-play and what not. I remember saying "Sony won't forget this" and they clearly haven't. Both Microsoft and Sony do this, and pretending it's just one side is forgetting history. Microsoft isn't some innocent person in this area, either. Further, GoW is a first-party Sony game. COD is not a Microsoft game.
- daveoc64 4y agoIt was Sony that dragged their feet on cross-platform play: https://www.theverge.com/2021/5/3/22417560/sony-ps4-cross-play-confidential-documents-epic-games-agreements https://www.theverge.com/2021/5/3/22417560/sony-ps4-cross-pl... Nintendo and Microsoft had it up and running, but Sony didn't want to allow it.
- jasonlotito 4y agoYes, but before that, it was Microsoft. People forget. The console wars did not start with PS4. https://www.ultragamerz.com/because-of-microsoft-gamers-didnt-get-cross-play-last-gen-as-the-xbox-360-was-selling-so-well/ https://www.ultragamerz.com/because-of-microsoft-gamers-didn... - bastardoperator 4y agoThat's all good and fine, but Microsoft has committed to bringing Activision titles to the Sony platform for at least a decade. Microsoft could have easily walled off Minecraft and Bethesda titles on the PS platform, but they haven't because they're heavily vested in the business of selling games... not just consoles. You're right, they've both done it in the past, only Sony wants to keep doing it. Microsoft is saying lets get rich publishing games people love, we don't care where you play it, we're getting paid regardless and we're also looking to buy a company that has the best version of cross play available today so that we can continue to satisfy gamers where ever they are. Also, GoW is available for PC, but not Xbox. COD will become a Microsoft game if Sony who opened this can of worms isn't willing to share their concern or prove they're not engaged in the practices they claim to be against, which they are. I don't disagree with you, but it's fairly clear that Microsoft wants to sell games and Sony wants to sell consoles that still aren't even available in most places for purchase.
- anonymousab 4y agoWalling off the new biggest Bethesda games from Sony platforms is literally one of the first things Microsoft did after the acquisition.
- bastardoperator 4y agoYou can buy Fallout 76 and Fallout 4 for ps4. Fallout 76 will be free for PS5 users and Fallout 4 is getting a PS5 refresh. Skyrim is also available for ps4 and ps5 so which game are you talking about? The one that doesn't even exist yet that will likely get released to PS5 later?
- anonymousab 4y agoThose games were all released before the acquisition. Microsoft has already announced that their future major Bethesda games - Starfield and TES6 - will not be released on Sony platforms.

- Alupis 4y ago> You can play COD on xbox, ps, and pc Today, you can. That is the argument here, isn't it? 10 years from now (or sooner), what stops Microsoft from making COD an Xbox/PC (or even just XBox) exclusive? Unlike new exclusive titles with zero fanbase, COD is big enough to surely convince a bunch of people to buy Xbox's and subscribe to Xbox Live and what-not. I don't even own a console - but am worried about Microsoft gobbling up game studio after game studio, game publisher after game publisher. There is a very real conflict of interest there.
