The compliance framework in the financial organization I worked at was much lower friction than at the tech company. It felt like something they took seriously so integrated it as a first class requirement. As opposed to at the tech org where they seemed to treat it like a chore they had to check off a list. I suspect that this is something that is organization dependent not a uniform trend in either direction.
