I think more Rust jobs will come, but the time horizon for that is... 5 years? 10 years? And it's a guess. C++ jobs exist and will dwarf Rust jobs for a long time (I would assume the rest of our lives). Most Rust jobs right now seem like crypto stuff, yeah. :p So pragmatism says C++, no question. Which is tragic because Rust is amazing and light years ahead of C++ in usability. Your sanity won't suffer like it will learning C++ (and then modern C++).
