BMW I Vision Dee
- photoGrant 4y ago[flagged]
- ianai 4y agoThat’s got to be the worst cookie consent form I’ve seen yet. Either accept all or go through a tediously long rejection list.
- teekert 4y agoAnd then there was only accepts all for me at the bottom!
- deleted 4y ago[deleted]
- parentheseus 4y agoFor me it only showed an empty blue and an empty white button. I'll take my chances.

- hulitu 4y agoIt looks like a Tesla Model BMW. /s

- cs702 4y agoVery cool-looking. How long until this vehicle becomes an actual product one can test-drive?
- kleer001 4y agoNever.
- meindnoch 4y agoThanks BMW, I vomited a bit into my mouth.

- Insanity 4y agothis looks more like an ad for a game than a car. Has no real information on the physical car at all, and it looks kind of gimmicky to me. But, definitely piqued my interest, I do wonder how this will look like in 2025. Edit: this helped me understand it: https://youtu.be/UfsGeKFw7cs https://youtu.be/UfsGeKFw7cs
- lapetitejort 4y agoIt will look like 2024's model, slightly more angular, with 1.2" more screen. That's about it
- kylecordes 4y agoAlso even larger kidney grills, of course.
- lapetitejort 4y agoKidney grills with a phygital (ow, it hurts to type) surface.
- Kon-Peki 4y agoI suppose most fans would gladly have the Bangle Butt instead of this. But the people who lease them want the biggest grill possible. Just wait until they pull a Mercedes and make it light up at night!
- lapetitejort 4y agoI struggle to see who this appeals to, until I remember the full car body anime decals I see periodically. I'm sure those drivers would be thrilled to be welcomed by a VTuber avatar. Of course, this is a concept, but one can dream.

- FL410 4y agoAs a former BMW super fan, it’s so sad to watch them systematically destroy everything that made the brand awesome.
- sneak 4y agoSee also: Burberry, Apple There really is some meta-wisdom here about things not to do when building long-term organizations.
- fein 4y agoIf it ain't broke, fix it until it is.
- porphyra 4y agoI, for one, love the look of this car and it's awesome to see BMW go back to the classical shape instead of their current "big nostril" design.

- uxcolumbo 4y agoWhat an extremely bad page. No idea what this is, is it virtual, is it in real life? It’s not clear… let’s see whether the video makes it clearer. Oh no, I have to accept some cookies first. Ok… I visit the cookies policy page and select the minimum required settings. Going back to the Dee page… it won’t allow me to watch the video without accepting all cookies. Why? Who designs this sh!t? If BMW can’t design an easy to use simple marketing / product web page, should I assume their in car UI is equally carelessly designed?

- ppeetteerr 4y agoI'm just glad "self-driving" is not part of the vision. What a lot of hot air that was. Put it in the same drawer as chatbots and web3.
- barbazoo 4y agough, that stupid steering "wheel" again. :)
- deleted 4y ago[deleted]
- poppin3k 4y agoanyone else miss the BMW x Clive Owen era?
- lom 4y agoThe video script: Move camera around a blurry car with buggy white lines around the window, after a dramatic long suspenseful buildup, show an anime character. The car greets the character by its name. wtf???

- 6figurelenins 4y ago> The BMW Mixed Reality Slider is the central operating control that gradually transforms the windscreen into... a fully virtual world > BMW i Vision Dee is a distinctive companion that shows emotions. Her headlights... form a uniform physical-digital (phygital) surface on which she visually expresses her emotions through animated facial expressions. "Douglas Adams, Xzibit and Jony Ive walk into a blender."

- geoffeg 4y agoIf the entire windshield can be turned into a display you could have a car with the first version of "Joo Janta 200 Super-Chromatic Peril Sensitive Sunglasses" but in windshield form. If the car detects it's about to get into an accident it can block you from seeing the outside world or maybe display a happy field of flowers.

- ofrzeta 4y agoCEO Zipse "BMW i Vision Dee shows what’s possible when hardware and software are combined". Yeah, sure, although I don't like indicative mood in the sentence because, for example, e-ink on the on whole body is noting more than sci-fi, isn't it? I wonder what's the point of "studies" like this, apart from showing off unlimited imagination. Or is it just another form of marketing BMW? They have something similar for motocyles: https://www.bmw-motorrad.com/de/experience/stories/brand/vision-next-100.html https://www.bmw-motorrad.com/de/experience/stories/brand/vis...
- meindnoch 4y agoThis BMW “study” reminds me of the equally laughable Nokia Morph concept from 2008: https://youtu.be/IX-gTobCJHs https://youtu.be/IX-gTobCJHs https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nokia_Morph https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nokia_Morph Based on this I would say that such “studies” are the sign of a company soon going bust.
