- orwin 4y agoNaturally, we birth more males than females. The natural ratio seems to be 1.05 and not 1.08 like i thought. No idea why.
- Apocryphon 4y agoYou know what would help encourage that? Widespread affordable home ownership and debt relief. Yet that is a problem from west to east.
- gernb 4y agoWouldn't it be the other way? If home ownership (and renting) became so expensive no one could possibly do it without multiple incomes people would be forced to find roommates.
- Apocryphon 4y agoDoesn’t seem to be the case. > macroeconomic conditions such as soaring housing prices and intense employment pressure also come into play, forcing many people to give up trying to tie the knot https://www.scmp.com/economy/china-economy/article/3204140/young-chinese-put-kids-marriage-back-burner-record-rate-cost-pressures-and-covid-overwhelm https://www.scmp.com/economy/china-economy/article/3204140/y...
- gernb 4y ago"Tying the knot" is not the same has having to find roommates. In general, one is often about supporting another as well as committing to a lifetime together. Neither of those have anything to do with finding roommates. https://www.wsj.com/articles/inflation-driven-record-rents-mean-more-people-are-piling-in-with-roommates-11666671826 https://www.wsj.com/articles/inflation-driven-record-rents-m...
