> TSLAQ (pronounced "Tesla Q") is a loose, international collective of largely anonymous short-sellers, skeptics, and researchers who openly criticize Tesla
- tromp 4y agoSomewhat confusing considering that Tesla Model Q is one of the rumored names for the new cheaper compact model (aka Model 2). https://topelectricsuv.com/news/tesla/tesla-model-2-design-details/ https://topelectricsuv.com/news/tesla/tesla-model-2-design-d...
- FireBeyond 4y agoMusk has a habit, a la Boris Johnson, of "snowing" search results that are likely to be unfavorable with his own (Johnson made a big show of repeatedly talking about "painting wine boxes to look like buses" to distract from a campaign issue about Brexit and contentious claims painted on buses). "Did you mean Tesla Model Q?", might say Google in the future, when someone looks for Tesla Q. https://www.wired.co.uk/article/boris-johnson-model-google-news https://www.wired.co.uk/article/boris-johnson-model-google-n...
- kennyadam 4y agoI've never been particularly convinced of the whole "he says he paints buses so that the brexit bus is pushed off Google" thing. It seems like the sort of thing that sounds right, so everyone starts repeating it, but really, is there any evidence at all?
- lordnacho 4y agoThe thing has his just enough believability to make it possible and is unimportant enough to make it not worth investigating. It's believable that some advisor thought it was a good idea to try, but also what if he did? Everyone remembers the bus thing in any case.
- KingOfCoders 4y agoBoris will not tell, and the PR consultant - as long as they are in business - will neither. So there is no proof possible for the forseeable future.
- VBprogrammer 4y agoIt could be entirely coincidental but he also proposed a bridge between Northern Ireland and Scotland which was a useful distraction from his Garden Bridge which wasted somewhere in the region of £200M.
- eecc 4y agoThe etymology is that bankrupted stocks that get pulled off the Exchange used to get a Q appended to their ticker name. https://www.investopedia.com/terms/q/q.asp https://www.investopedia.com/terms/q/q.asp
