- dekhn 4y agoIt's amazing how genetics has sort of started with one partly correct but very limited idea (simple SNP alleles generate phenotypes) and it's slowly coming up with terms to explain the obvious (from the perspective of a molecular biologist). The entire conceptualization of how genes make phenotypes needs to be updated.
- algoatecorn 4y agoIndeed, fellow molecular biologist! Luckily I work with plants, so we can manipulate to our hearts' content. But I have thought a lot about ways to communicate the new and developing paradigm of genetics that includes interplay, signaling, epigenetics, etc. Looking back at my earliest coursework I can think of so many things that have changed in the field.
