Tesla cars can't receive terrestrial radio? That seems like a serious oversight.
- FanaHOVA 4y agoNope. I remember driving on some mountain road a while ago and the sign to tune into the frequency was flashing, but there was no way to get an AM station.
- peterept 4y agoSame happened to me!
- viraptor 4y agohttps://www.tesla.com/en_au/support/infotainment https://www.tesla.com/en_au/support/infotainment > Yes. We offer an additional Radio Upgrade, including the installation of a compatible radio tuner and antennas, that allows customers to retain access to FM radio and DAB radio. It is not possible to retain access to AM radio.
- ChuckNorris89 4y ago>That seems like a serious oversight Yeah, so what if your car can't tune into terrestrial radio, because it can run DOOM and impress your friends.
- serf 4y agono kidding -- lots of municipalities, in the US at least, request people to tune in to AM stations during serious bad weather/road conditions/emergencies. Irvine, for example, has signs for AM 1640 during emergency conditions.
- diggernet 4y agoIt's not an oversight, it's a deliberate removal. I guess they don't want their customers to be able to receive safety broadcasts.
